Here's
How
Pattern
- Enlarge pattern 415% on a copy machine. Trace the
patterns onto tracing paper with your pencil. Use
scissors to cut out the pattern pieces. Secure the
pattern pieces to the felt with pins & cut out
felt.
- Transfer pattern details onto the cutouts using
the fabric transfer pen (always follow manufacturer's
direction). DO NOT transfer the tiny shading guide
dots!
Painting Procedure
- Faces: Load dry flat brush with baby Blue.
Lightly scrub the color around the petal outline edges.
Repeat for the yellow felt face centers, using Cadmium
Orange. Use a circular motion to brush in the cheek
areas. When dry, use the liner brush to add tiny White
highlights to the cheeks and onto each red felt nose.
Use the liner brush and Black to create the eyes,
smiles and petal accent lines.
- Messages: Load a dry flat brush with Ultra
Blue. Lightly scrub the color around the outside edges
of the blue felt message cutout. Repeat for the Pink
felt message cutout, using Magenta. Use the liner
brush to paint black lettering on both messages.
- Leaf Arms: Load a dry flat brush with Lime.
Lightly scrub the color around the petal edges, using
the shaded dots on your pattern for reference. Let
dry.
Assembly
Refer to your pattern for reference
- Glue the faces in place over the white petal base.
- Place glue along the bottom of each message cutout
and glue into place.
- Glue the leaf arms onto the base of the face, arranging
so that the message can be glued securely over the
ends of each arm. Leaf "thumbs"should then
be glued over each message.
- Nose should then be glued securely onto faces so;
that the bottom half of nose rests over the message
cutouts.
- Accent dots are then glued into place around the
face borders, slightly overlapping onto the white
petals.
- Glue a button magnet to the back center of the completed
project.
